SHARING MY STORY & HOW I AM NOW USING MY JOURNEY TO HELP YOU!
I get so many questions about utilizing macro counting during the various stages of pregnancy and postpartum. This is something I’m super passionate about, as I used macros as a tool for both my pregnancies, and both my postpartum periods. I was so pleased with my experience both times, and loved my pregnancy and pregnancy body. I felt so confident, not only because of the way I looked but because of the way I felt, due to fueling my body appropriately! I am still only 6 months postpartum with my second baby, and feel so thankful to have the tools I need to navigate this time: managing my weight while also prioritizing my milk supply by ensuring I have enough calories to fuel my body and feed my baby!
“Can I still track macros when I’m pregnant?”
Such a common question and the answer is YES! I love educating others on the benefits of counting macros during pregnancy. Making sure your protein intake is top priority is one of the many reasons tracking macros can be a great tool during pregnancy. “Eating for two” is such a myth during pregnancy. Making sure your calories are right where they need to be for each stage / trimester is crucial to maintain a healthy weight gain for your body type.
“How do I add in calories for breastfeeding?”
Another question I get frequently. The average woman burns 500-700 calories per day breastfeeding. Women who are breastfeeding are encouraged to add 200-500 calories to their maintenance number to ensure they are eating enough to maintain a great milk supply!
There are so many other benefits and reasons why tracking macros during the pregnancy and postpartum periods can be so beneficial. Let me show you how!
